Petal Creations – Kent Florist
Had a brilliant early morning, working on a personal branding & behind the scenes session, with Carol of Petal Creations Florists recently; a Kent florist based in Cliffe, Rochester. Although a little nervous to start with; after a quick chat and a coffee, it was out to the ‘studio’ and workshop to watch her at work. Putting together the bouquets, table displays and button holes for a local Kent wedding later that day.
Nerves were put aside pretty quickly, and it was clear from watching Carol work how much she loves what she does. The attention to detail and the care she took bringing the individual flowers together into beautiful bouquets made it obvious!
Carol is going to be using the images on her website, so that she give her clients an insight into her values and tell ‘her story’. The photographs are also going to be used on her social media profiles to boost engagement and give her audience an insight into how she goes the extra mile for her clients.
What inspired you to start Petal Creations (Kent Florist)?
“I have always been interested in anything artistic as i was not an academic at school and my first job (many years ago!) in Knightsbridge London was as a trainee window dresser for an exclusive ladies wear shop. Part of the training involved Floristry and my love of flowers started there.”
What’s unique about Petal Creations that you’d like everyone to know about?
“I stopped working to be a full time mum and spent the next 20 years enjoying family life but I always had a great passion for flowers and created funeral and wedding flowers for family and friends to keep my hand in. As I began to have more spare time I enlisted on a refreshment floristry course and stated my own business Petal Creations Florist. being a freelance Kent based florist who works from home I can concentrate solely on my client and feel that I give a very personable service.”
What have you been up to in the last month?
“The busy wedding season is over and I’m now concentrating on Christmas orders and designs as well as funeral work.”
What’s your top advice to someone who would benefit from what you do / or looking for a florist?
“My advise to finding a florist especially for weddings and funerals is to find someone like myself who is passionate about producing top work with great ideas and sympathetic to your needs, as well as being knowledgeable of flowers.”
Who’s been some of the mentors/key people who are instrumental to your success/starting/Inspiration?
” I belong to several Kent florist groups and my favorite top florist on facebook to get great inspiration/ideas from them. My work is now mainly recommended and I think this is due to my love of using new flowers and never ‘making do’.”
